Getting Me Out of My Box, Matthew 17: 1-8

Is your God is too Small? This theological question was asked many years ago by J.B. Phillips. He lived in a time of great progress and discovery. He realized with the world becoming “modern” that our understanding of God needed to grow. He pushed the reader to see that the God of Scripture is way bigger than our created images of God. I pondered this as I prepared this week. I think that many of us live in fear because we serve an idea (about God) that is not true. If your fear is bigger than your understanding of God, then your understanding is too small. In other words, give your heart and mind to the one true God seen in Jesus who calls demons out, who commands the wind, who can stop the sun, who can raise the dead and who can knock down the walls that make our box of fear.

Special Note: I have no idea if I have any influence in your life, but I do know we need you as we journey toward building and establishing changes in our program. If you are looking to get back to church now is such a great time. If you currently are active I want to urge you to invite friends and re-commit your lives to Jesus as we face these days ahead together. He makes “you” and “me” an “us.”
