Sermon: A Day Is Coming! Jeremiah 33: 14:1611/29/2009 Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! What a wonderful time for families. Did you know that Sunday is the Christian New Year? But I am confident that Dick Clark nor anyone of his celebrity will be standing at the countdown clock on Saturday at midnight. I am also relatively certain that there are no plans for a gigantic crystal ball to be lowered at Times Square. We could start our own watch night I suppose. It's true, the Christian Calendar, as opposed to the Roman Calendar, runs from first Sunday in Advent to the end of Sunday after Pentacost. The year is based on the Gospels time line. This Sunday is the first Sunday in the Advent Season. It's the season of Preparation leading up to the celebration of the birth of Jesus at the Christmas service or Christ-mass. So, Happy New Year! This Sunday we will begin to look with expectation toward the coming of Jesus and the establishment of the Kingdom of God. See you Sunday.
