Sermon: Do Something: Live With Annointing,2/28/2010 A camp meeting preacher once chirped while calling people to holiness of heart and life that the Bible was so full of Holiness that it seeps out onto the cover and says, "Holy Bible." Holiness - the character of those set apart by the Holy Spirit for the purpose of Christ. The word anointing comes from the practice of ceremonially using oil to consecrate things and people for holy usefulness. I heard that some evangelist once broke down on the way to a revival and proceeded to anoint his car with 10W40 setting it apart for holy use. The story ends with the car cranking, of course. Now I don't know if I could verify that, but I do know that the Holy Spirit can set us apart for the purposes of Christ. I hope to see you Sunday as we consider being anointed for Christ.
