The Big Aristotle, Colossians 3: 12-178/12/2007 Shaquille O'Neal is the given name of the most dominating player in the NBA of the last decade. But the Shaq-daddy likes to play around with other monikers. He has referred to himself in the past as the Big Continuity, Big Legendary and sometimes it's Shaq-speare because the Big Diesel from the Bayou enjoys quoting the playwright of Stratford. On the night when he accepted the 1999 season's Most Valuable Player award, however, the center for the Miami Heat said that "from this day on, I want to be known as 'The Big Aristotle' because Aristotle once said that excellence is not a singular act, it's a habit -- you are what you repeatedly do." Hey, that’s pretty good stuff. Paul calls us in Colossians to exchange the habits of vice for a life of virtues. He calls us to live holy. Join me Sunday as we consider these things.
