The Glory of the Cross, Part II, Galatians 6:11-15

3/16/2008

Isaac Watts, as we discussed last week, was a man who had been ill and physically unable to be active as a child.  He was highly educated man who dreamed of being an ordained pastor, but He found his purpose in writing Hymns.  He not only wrote when I Survey the Wondrous Cross, but also the classic Alas and Did My Savior Bleed.  It was a reflection on the Atonement of Christ, the sacrifice that paid in full the price of our sins.  In that Holy Event we glory and wonder.  I hope these reflections move us closer to Christ.  For this week, I will reflect on this hymn, Alas and did my savior bleed.  I hope you can join us.
