Why Seek the Living Among the Dead? Luke 24:1-12

3/23/2008

“While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us,” is the scriptures expression of the grace of God.  On this Good Friday, we reflect on the suffering of our savior for the sins of the world.  It is an easy leap to anticipate Easter because we have celebrated so many times before and forgiveness and new life are more pleasant than sin resulting in death.  I remind us all that the cross is awful and wonderful at the same time.  We call it a paradox.  I want to encourage you to journey to the cross today and reflect on the awfulness of our sin and the incredible love of God in Christ Jesus.  And then, I look forward to seeing you Sunday; it will be a glorious resurrection day.
