The Sower, Matthew 13:1-9 - Scott Hagood3/15/2009 You have to admit, there is something about spring, the warming of the weather, that brings out this inner urge in a person to go out and work the ground and prepare it to plant and grow things. As you ride around the country side you see farmers preparing their tractors and equipment to begin plowing fields for planting their crops. As you ride around the neighborhoods, you see people working in their flower beds, trimming trees and planting early season flowers. And as much as we sometimes hate to admit it, there is a certain sense of satisfaction from working the soil, getting dirty, feeling the sore muscles as we see the fruits of ones labor in the flowers and plants that grow from our labors. This Sunday, I will be presenting a message with these thoughts in mind as they relate to the Parable of the Sower found in Matthew 13:1-9. I hope to see you Sunday morning.
