Life in the Trusting Business, Mark 9: 14-29 3/29/2009 Paul declared that Christ crucified is the power of God unto salvation. I think this is an incredible declaration. I can know that the Spirit of God has applied the benefits of the cross, quickened my heart (made it live) and given me the assurance of life eternal and abundant. This week I have wrestled with the passage in Mark 9 mentioned as my text. Jesus is very stern in his admonishing those listening, including this desperate dad, to believe. Believing in this case is not just for a miracle, but believing themselves to the Son of God. I must confess Him as the Son of God who brings eternal life? My faith is in the person of Christ Jesus and not just His power to perform the miraculous. Have you trusted your life to Him to the point of laying down your own agenda?
Is He your savior or is it someone/thing else? Do we chase signs and wonders or the sign and wonder, the crucified Christ Himself? I hope to see you Sunday.
